Empowering Young People (EYP), a registered non-profit organization dedicated to igniting the passion for action among young individuals through youth mentorship and community events!
While EYP is not affiliated with any specific faith, we embrace certain Christian faith practices, such as offering prayers before meals, as part of our inclusive and supportive environment.
At Empowering Young People (EYP), our aim is clear: to EMPOWER youth to reach their full potential as responsible contributing members of their communities. Through mentorship, education, and support, we strive to equip young individuals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to thrive and make a positive impact in the world around them.
To see youth in Lake County and all other counties in Central Florida reach their full potential and make the most out of their opportunities in life.
At Empowering Young People (EYP), we believe that every child is special. It is our mission and core values to instill in every boy and girl the principles that guide them to become individuals who consistently choose to do the right thing, walk in excellence, live a life of integrity, steward their time wisely, and collaborate effectively with others.
EYP's aim is to inspire and support all youth, irrespective of their gender, race, past challenges, socio-economic status, religion, or sexual orientation, to embark on a journey of self-discovery and personal growth. We are committed to empowering each young person to uncover and embody the best version of themselves.
4th Wednesday of every month we host a community event for middle and high school students that focus on educating the youth in the community and addressing youth issues.
We support a Youth Group ran by Hope International Church by providing meals every Wednesday night for middle and high school students in Groveland, FL.
Every summer we run a Summer Camp for kids 5-12 years old for 8 weeks where they get to tutoring, play games, make crafts and more!
We also employ local high school students to work as camp counselors to enhance their job and teamwork skills.
The Fatherhood Initiative was created in partnership with Kids Central Inc. to provide fathers resources to support them best. We believe if we help the fathers we can help the kids.
Meet Anthony (TJ) McCoy Jr., the visionary founder of Empowering Young People (EYP). TJ's journey with EYP began in 2017 during his time as a student-athlete at the University of Florida, where he pursued his degree in Family, Youth, and Community Sciences.
TJ's unwavering passion lies in witnessing the success of youth, watching them achieve their aspirations, and ultimately, become active contributors to society. With this fervent drive, he established EYP, envisioning a platform that would not only educate young individuals but also cater to the needs of both youth and their families through a diverse array of events, sports training, summer programs, and after-school initiatives.
Through EYP, TJ aims to instill in every young person the belief that they possess the potential to reach their goals, provided they are willing to exert effort and seize the opportunities presented to them during their formative years. TJ's commitment to empowering youth shines through his dedication to EYP's mission and his unwavering belief in the transformative power of mentorship and community support."
