Prices

Camp Pricing – We offer two weekly payment options to fit your family’s needs.

Option 1: Full Program Rate — $75 per Camper/WeekHours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

This option is for families committed to the full summer program.
  • Requires commitment to all six (6) weeks of camp
  • Payments are due weekly
  • You will be charged for each registered week regardless of attendance
  • Best value for full-summer campers

Option 2: Flexible Attendance Option — $100 per Camper/WeekHours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
This option provides maximum flexibility.

  • Pick and choose the weeks your child attends
  • You will only be charged for weeks your camper is present
  • Sibling Discount: Each additional camper receives $20 off per week
  • No full-summer commitment required

Chief Summer Camp Counselor

The Chief Camp Counselor will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for campers, and leading a team of camp staff. This individual will play a key role in program development, staff supervision, and overall camp management while fostering a positive and enriching experience for all participants.

$16 per hour 

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in education, recreation, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in camp leadership, youth programming, or a similar role preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and manage high-energy environments.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp begins).
  • Background check and fingerprinting required.
  • Passion for working with youth and fostering a positive camp culture.

Schedule & Compensation

  •  6 hour shifts (Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM).

Summer Scholar Tutor

Empowering Young People is seeking certified teachers in Lake County to serve as Summer Scholar Tutors for our 2025 EYP Summer Camp program. Tutors will facilitate small group sessions focused on reading, writing, and math using a provided curriculum. This role is not for new instruction; instead, tutors will help scholars retain and reinforce knowledge gained during the previous school year.

$35.00 per hour 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate engaging and supportive reading, writing, and math review sessions.
  • Follow the provided curriculum to guide student learning and ensure consistency.
  • Maintain a positive, encouraging environment that supports academic confidence and retention.
  • Monitor student participation and provide constructive feedback.
  • Communicate any academic or behavioral concerns to the Camp Director.
  • Participate in brief staff meetings or trainings as needed.

Qualifications

  • Florida teaching certification (Lake County preferred).
  • Experience teaching or tutoring elementary and/or middle school students.
  • Passion for youth development and student success.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff and maintain a professional demeanor.

Schedule & Compensation

  •  2 hour shifts (Monday – Thursday , 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM).

Youth Summer Camp Counselors

Empowering Young People (EYP) is seeking energetic, positive, and reliable individuals to join our summer camp team as Camp Counselors. Camp Counselors play a vital role in shaping the summer experience for youth ages 5–12, by creating a fun, safe, and enriching environment. Counselors will engage campers in games, crafts, academic enrichment sessions, and other recreational activities while serving as positive role models.

  • Camper Engagement & Leadership
    • Build positive relationships with campers and serve as a mentor and role model.
    • Actively engage in all camp activities, including games, sports, arts and crafts, and special events.
    • Lead small groups of campers throughout the day, ensuring their safety and participation.
  • Activity Planning
    • Collaborate with team to plan and lead daily activities, including educational games, creative crafts, and group challenges.
    • Encourage creativity, teamwork, and cooperation during activities.
    • Help implement theme days and special events that align with camp goals.
  • Summer Scholar Sessions
    • Support campers during Summer Scholar academic enrichment sessions focusing on reading, writing, math, and financial literacy.
    • Assist certified teachers in managing small group rotations, offering encouragement and help where needed.
    • Promote a positive learning environment and help campers stay focused and on task.
  • Camper Behavior & Safety
    • Ensure all campers follow the Camper Code of Conduct, including no fighting, hitting, roughhousing, or running in the building.
    • Promote kindness, respect, and inclusion among campers.
    • De-escalate minor conflicts and report any serious issues to the Camp Director immediately.
  • Teamwork & Communication
    • Communicate effectively with fellow counselors, staff, and leadership.
    • Attend all required staff meetings, trainings, and debriefs.
    • Work collaboratively with other staff to ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable camp experience.
  • General Supervision
    • Supervise campers during all transitions, meals, bathroom breaks, and field trips.
    • Ensure campers are always accounted for and in the correct group.
    • Support implementation of daily schedules and routines.
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children or youth preferred.
  • Passion for working with youth and making a positive impact.
  • Ability to lead with kindness, enthusiasm, and patience.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
